We are forging collective memory through shared creative experiences
The Living Lineage Foundation brings artists, makers, and neighbors together through pop-up exhibits spotlighting Boulder’s creative soul.
Our goal is simply cultural reanimation.
FOUNDING PROGRAM
The Living Lounge
At its heart, The Living Lounge exists to support artists and makers, provide valuable hands-on knowledge to the community, and bring people together in a safe and creative environment.
- A rotating gallery wall of local artists you ought to know
- A flexible communal gathering area designed for workshops and open creativity
- A refreshments bar with herbal drinks, local snacks, and free water always
- Visual art, herbalism, crafting, and writing workshops
- A wall of mirrors with donated lipstick for writing messages to yourself
- Event hosting, private parties, and community-led pop-up experiences

“Public spaces are viewed as canvases, stages and playgrounds for artistic production and cultural events. Public art shows what a community values and brings shared spaces to life.”
— Boulder Arts Blueprint
For artists and makers
What grows here
Boulder has no shortage of creative talent, but it does lack affordable places to showcase it. Studio rents have moved past what an emerging artist can carry, and many of the venues that remain ask for a fee before a single piece goes on the wall.
Our answer is deliberately plain. Artists show on a commission-only basis, with no membership charge and no entry fee. Commission rates are set more favorably for the artist compared to other galleries, which also makes pieces more affordable for art lovers.
An evolving body of work
Upon activation, the space continues to transform as visitors interact with, contribute to, and leave their mark on collaborative pieces.
Makers of every kind
Alongside visual artists, the space represents herbalists, jewelers, sculptors, ceramicists, and poets whose work rarely finds a wall.
Teaching as part of it
Participating artists can lead workshops in the space, continuing the tradition of hands-on learning passed from one person to another.

Get in touch
We would welcome a conversation.
If you work in arts infrastructure, community space, or cultural preservation in Boulder County, we would be glad to walk you through our program plan and financial model in detail.
We are channeling what mothers, goddesses, teachers, and sorcerers throughout history have been passing down through stories, art, songs, and secret meetings.
This is the lineage in our name. It is kept by the people still making things, and it needs somewhere to happen.
